For the best experience of our students and spectators we will be keeping this event to approximately 18 groups. These spots are on a first come, first serve basis and will be closed once we reach our performer limit. Bands will perform in their class in the order in which their bond and registration check were postmarked. The online registration IS required, but the postmarked check will secure the performance position.
RULES AND REGULATIONS 2023
Classification System
Bands will be classified according to the number of wind players. Bands may enter a higher classification but may not enter a lower classification.
Silver Division
Class A - Up To 40 Winds
Class AA - 41-59 Winds
Class AAA - 60-79 Winds
Gold Division
Class AAAA - 80-100 Winds
Class OPEN - 101 + Winds
Adjudication
Adjudication for this event will be in Olympic Format
Ratings
Superior (1)- 85-100
Excellent (2)- 70-84.99
Average (3)- 55-69.99
Fair (4)- below 55
Awards
Awards will be given in the following areas
Participation: presented to all ensembles
GMEA Ratings: for color guard, percussion and overall band for all competing bands
Class Caption Awards: 3rd, 2nd, and 1st in class for percussion, color guard, drum majors in each class
Class Placement Awards: 3rd, 2nd, 1st place overall in all classes
Overall
Most outstanding brass, woodwind, and most entertaining award (regardless of class, voted on by judges)
High Visual: Regardless of Class
High Music: Regardless of Class
High General Effect: Regardless of Class
